A Drunk On Crutches Biography

Drunk On Crutches left Eden for palm trees in the prairie.  Left the pavement to amble on the grass.  Wiped seaspray from denim and leather.

They dream of sultry bars echoing with songs and fights and broken bottles.  They smell of cypress and eucalyptus.  They feel like sand on velvet.

They make drunken phone calls at midnight to old friends.  Drive with all the windows rolled down.  Cling to a dark optimism.

Jennifer Whittenburg moved from rural Georgia to Los Angeles to work as a recording engineer.  In the studio she works alongside producer/engineer and L.A. native Andrew Alekel.  They have worked with such wide ranging artists as: Foo Fighters, No Doubt, Queens Of The Stone Age, Jack Johnson, Weezer, and Rush.

Together, in their spare time, they make music: a rakish sundrenched folie à deux, gold turned to flint and back again.

A range of guests appear alongside the band on their album People. Places. Things., including experienced studio musicians such as drummer Curt Bisquera (Elton John, Tom Petty, Whiskeytown) and keyboardist Rami Jaffee (The Wallflowers, Foo Fighters), as well as local L.A. favorites such as Brian Wright and Sally Jaye.

Drunk On Crutches have a sweet soul underneath that gritty carapace.  On Sunday mornings, they go to the Unsullied Church of the Personal and the Poetic, and then spend the rest of the day drinking on the back porch.

Come along.  B.Y.O.  Where do you have left to go but in?
