Year End Lists Part 2...

Another supporter of D.O,C, has been the excellent "A Fifty Cent Lighter & A Whiskey Buzz" blog.  They were nice enough to list us at #10 this year with "People. Places. Things."  Putting us in the excellent company of some of our favorites like Tift Merritt and Patty Griffin.

The Year End Lists...oh and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year All!

With all new 2011 making it's appearance, it's time for everyone's year end list.  It's great to read these since it's where most writers have their own take on the year's releases.  We made a few of these lists this year with "People. Places. Things."  We'll be sharing the other ones in the next couple of posts.

First up is "Last Year's Girl" from Scotland.  She has written some very nice things about us in the past (one if which you can find HERE) and really gets it.

You Can Always Go Downtown...

Hey All,

Feel free to end your Labor Day weekend with a hot rock show.  Two other super cool bands are also playing (I suppose that means we are implying that we are super cool...deal with it.)  And now for the details: September 7th at La Cita in Downtown LA.  Also playing are Whispering Pines and Welldiggers Banquet.

Salvation And Such...

Hey All,

We are back from the tour and things were great.  We met some really cool people and played some really cool places.

On that note, we are playing Silverlake Lounge later this week.  Thursday to be exact.  You can get tickets and information here.  Joining us will be Sons Of August and Lila Nelson.  Like the poster says, there will be cocktails and dancing.

Two nice reviews...

Hey All,

We got a couple of nice reviews in the last two days!  The first is courtesy of hyperbolium.com.  Eli had some really nice things to say and gets what we're doing.  The second is from the blog Last Year's Girl.  She wrote about "Songs That Make You Feel Like Everything Will Be OK."  "Apt. 16" was included on list...and maybe it's because the song actually says "everything will be ok."  Did we mention that Last Year's Girl's name is Lisa-Marie (and is from Scotland)?  That rules.  All ladies named Lisa-Marie are welcome in the D.O.C. world!
